In our 3K program, open to 3 and 4 year old children, we begin to focus on the skills that will be further developed in our Pre-Kindergarten program. Lessons in language and vocabulary, emergent reading and writing skills, physical development, and science and art are presented in a playful environment through fun, creative projects.
Daily activities include opportunities for free play and exploration at classroom learning centers as well as group lessons, circle time, and story time.
The lead teachers in the 3K classrooms have Bachelor’s Degrees in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Associate Credentials, a nationally recognized credential in Early Childhood Education. They are assisted by one staff member with education and/or work experience focused on early childhood and maintain a child-to-teacher ratio of 7:1.
3K students participate in all-school activities with their older peers in prekindergarten classes, getting to know the Pre-K teachers, which will ease their transition to prekindergarten. Our staff works together at all levels to share information regarding children and their needs.
