Tim Frazier, Executive Director

Tim Frazier, is the the Chief Operating Officer of the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center. Previously, Tim was the Principal of Southampton Intermediate School . He is a trustee on the Springs Board of Education. Tim has a wide variety of educational experiences, including teaching in the Peace Corps, teaching at a childcare center in Greely, Colorado, teaching elementary school in Virginia and as an elementary assistant principal, middle school assistant principal and elementary principal before he moved to the East End. His academic background is in elementary education (B.S.) and educational administration (M.S.). Along his educational journey, he has graduate work in outdoor education and doctoral work in educational leadership. Tim has always been a strong advocate for early childhood literacy. Literacy is a key factor in developing the foundation for future success for all young children and enhancing their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development during this most critical period (K-5) of human growth.

Susan Wright, Program Director

Susan joins us from a record-breaking brief retirement from Southampton School District where she was Assistant Principal for the past 14 years in the Elementary, Intermediate and High School. She brings a wealth of administrative and teaching experience over many years, including her time as a a Special Education Teacher in Bayside Queens, and as an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University teaching courses such as Educational Interventions for Young Students with Disabilities. Susan was the recipient of the Administrator of the Year: Lifetime Achievement Award in March 2020. She will work in partnership with Tim in updating the Center curriculum and ensuring that we maintain the high-quality, research-based programming for children ages 18 months to 5 years old. ​

Marisol Guerrero, Assistant Program Director

Marisol has been with the Center for more than 13 years, first as an Assistant Teacher in Pre-K, and most recently as a 3-K Lead Teacher. Marisol does double duty as both a teacher and assisting Tim and Susan with staffing and licensing requirements. She also serves as the translator for our Latinx parents. A native of Ecuador, Marisol moved to the United States 22 years ago. Marisol has a degree in Business Administration, from university in Ecuador, as well as a teaching degree from Suffolk Community College and SUNY Empire. She was inspired to teach very young children by her son, Adam. "He changed everything for me. I wanted to understand his development in an important way. It was the right decision. I love what I do.”

Joan is responsible for marketing and fundraising. As a private, not-for-profit organization, more than 50% of the annual budget is funded through donations from individuals, businesses and foundations. Joan’s early background is in marketing and advertising. She is the co-founder of

Mary is the person behind two meals and two snacks daily, year round for the children of the Center. Mary has been a part of the program since 1987 when it still resided at its former location on Cedar Street. You can find her every day until 12:30 in the kitchen that bears her name.


Pre-K Lead Teachers

Sandra McLaughlin

Sandy got her Masters of Education at Long Island University Southampton in 2002. After student teaching at Southampton Elementary Ms. Sandy was a teaching assistant at Quogue elementary from 2002-2003. She has been a lead teacher at The Center since 2003.

Jacqueline Bates

Jacqueline got her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education at Susquehanna University. She is certified in Early childhood Education, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. Miss Bates has worked in the East Hampton School District as a substitute for three years.

3K Teachers

Marisol Guerrero

Marisol earned her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Suffolk County Community College. She is currently completing her Child Development Associate Credential, a nationally recognized credential in Early Childhood Education. She has been working at The Center since 2007.
