THE FIRST 5 YEARS MATTER MOST
The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center is a nationally recognized center of excellence for early childhood education. The center is the only resource in the area providing both all day childcare and high-quality early education for children ages 18 months to 5 years. We are here for working families, caring for children 5 days a week, 10 hours a day, 12 months a year.
Welcome Tim Frazier and Susan Wright, our new Executive Director and Program Director.
Tim and Susan are joining The Center from the Southampton School District where they were Principal of the Middle School and Vice-Principal of the High School respectively. Read more abut their impressive backgrounds as educators and administrators here. We are truly blessed to have this dynamic team at the helm. Thank you, Katy Graves for finding them for us. We are forever grateful for your time as our leader during the Pandemic.
Welcome Our New Staff
The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center would like to introduce new staff and staff changes to you as we begin the New Year! We have been working hard to open spaces for parents/families on our “waiting list”, especially in our Toddler classrooms. In order to do just that, we have moved some staff around and hired new staff in order to extend our child care. It is my please to introduce these new staff members and some of their background.
Ms. Desiree Manzitto, will be a new lead teacher in the 3-K rooms. Desiree has her MA degree in Literacy and Cognition from St. Joseph’s College and a BA degree in special education and speech.
Ms. Dawn Haney, will be a teaching assistant in the Toddler rooms. Dawn has supported children at EWECC before and is returning as we expand our Toddler program, adding another classroom.
Ms. Daysi Jimenez, will be co-teaching in the new Toddler classroom. She has been working as a TA at the Center in our Toddler program and is now certified as a lead teacher.
Ms. Lydia Bonner, will be replacing our Administrative Assistant, Claire Hopkins, as she returns to Wake Forest to complete her undergraduate work. Lydia, has been a TA in the Toddler program this fall and has a wonderful background with working in not-for-profit programs.
Ms. Janelle Chavis, will be a part-time TA in the after care program. Janelle has worked as an early child care provider from the Southampton Public School District.
Darlin Hernadez, is a TA in our half-day 3-K room working with our lead teacher Ms. Jessica Pillco
Hopefully, this will continue the desire to give you “good information” about our wonderful Center as we strive to offer the best for our young children.
Timothy C. Frazier, Executive Director
